Nowadays, it’s harder to pinpoint tourists because nobody is carrying a camera anymore. Most people just use their cellphones to take souvenir photos. Only a few people, those who are really very particular about the quality photos, will carry along a Digital Single-lens Reflex (DSLR) camera. However, we may be seeing less of them in the near future because DxO just recently announced that they are already accepting pre-orders for a pocket sized DSLR-quality camera that can be attached to the iPhones’ charging port. These photo’s with alarming quality can be printed at  Target Photo.

The gadget is called DxO One. It’s as small as a lighter and just weighs like one. It attaches to the charging port of your iPhone and when they are together, they look like one unit.

To take a picture, you are still going to hold your iPhone the way you did when it was solo but this time your trigger finger will be on the DxO One. You will still see the image on you iPhone screen and control the pre-settings there. The only thing that is different is that you will click on the DxO One to capture the image instead of clicking on your iPhone.

So what’s the difference between shooting from your iPhone camera and shooting with this attachment?

The main difference is that you get better quality pictures with the DxO One Attachment. Though the camera function in cellphones are already very clear, they still cannot match the quality that can be produced by a DSLR camera. But, with this latest attachment to the iPhone, you can already have picture quality that’s at the same level as a DSLR camera.

DxO One’s picture quality already matches that of Pentax K-S1, Olympus OM-D E-M5 II, and Sony RX100 III.

Why will you buy a DxO One?- PhotoPrintPrices.comWhy will you buy a DxO One?

For those who are already contented with the photos which their iPhones can produce, this gadget may not be attractive because it costs $599. But, if you are not satisfied with the quality of the photos you’ve been talking with your iPhone and planning to buy a DSLR camera then, you’ll be saving a lot of money by buying the DxO One instead. Pentax K-S1 costs $700. Olympus OM-D E-M5 II costs $2,100. And, Sony RX100 III costs $800.

Aside from the price of DxO One being a lot more reasonable than the cost of a DSLR camera, the DxO One is smaller. If you have a DSLR camera it would probably be hanging on your neck like a necklace which can be uncomfortable or, you can put it in your backpack where it will be inconvenient to pull out every time you want to shoot a photo. The iPhone-DxO One combination is more convenient to carry around. You can put your iPhone wherever you usually put it; maybe in your pants’ pocket. Then, the DxO One is only as small as a lighter so it can be placed in your shirt’s breast pocket. When you want to shoot something, all you have to do is pull out both devices, attach them and shoot.

The DxO One may not be appealing to everyone considering the additional cost but for those who want better quality pictures, the DxO One attachment is a cheaper and more convenient option than buying a DSLR camera.
